Picky Picky Eater

As we immerse ourselves further in the terrible two's, I have found that foods our child used to eat, she will not touch. And that our menu has dwindled down to yogurt, cheese puffs, and grill cheese. In panic I have found a couple of menu options that seem to be getting her more interested in eating and guidelines to help. Granted with that being said, we may end up with the original three menu items only. But, it gives me hope!

"A Terrific Toddler Menu"
Breakfast - 1/2 hard boiled egg, 1 piece of whole-grain toast, 1/2 C berries, and 3/4 C milk
Snack- 1 piece string cheese (cut up) and water
Lunch - 1/2 C mini pasta tossed with 2t olive oil and 1/2 C broccoli and 3/4 C milk
Snack - 1 small banana with water
Dinner - 1/2 cod fillet (sauteed in a little oil), 1/2 C cooked brown rice (Trader Joe's frozen brown rice is the best that I have found), 1/2 C cooked squash, and water

You can also add a 50 to 70 calorie treat like a cookie, ice pop, or mini piece of chocolate.

"A Day Plan for Preschoolers"
Breakfast - mini whole grain bagel with 1T peanut butter, 5 lg sliced strawberries, and 3/4 C milk
snack - 6 baby carrots and 1/2C broccoli with 2T low fat ranch dip with water
Lunch - turkey and cheese sandwich on whole grain bread with 1/2 C apple slices and water
Snack - 2T hummus, 5 whole grain crackers, and water
Dinner - 1/2 small piece grilled chicken, 10 sweet potato fries (again, Trader Joe's has the best ones), dinner roll, 1/2 C grapes, and 3/4C milk

You can also add 50 to 70 calorie treat here too
